Job description

[solidcore] is seeking a Manager, Learning & Development to lead the Learning & Development function and play a pivotal role in building a high-performance culture across both our HQ and field teams. This person will own our learning platforms and content, drive leadership development for our corporate and field studio leaders, and design programs that build capability at every level of the organization. 

You will partner directly with leaders across the business to identify development needs and translate them into impactful, scalable learning experiences. If you are a builder who is energized by creating programs that change how people lead and work, this role is for you.

Key Focus Areas

Leadership Development 

  • Design and scale leadership development programs tailored to corporate and field employees, including core leadership competencies, situational management, and career progression frameworks 
  • Create blended learning journeys (live, virtual, self-paced) that reach leaders in the field and in corporate who can’t always step away from their day to day roles 
  • Build tools and resources leaders can use in the flow of work - job aids, manager toolkits, coaching guides, etc. 

Instructional Design & Content Development 

  • Design and develop engaging learning content using Articulate 360 (Storyline and/or Rise) and other modalities 
  • Apply instructional design best practices to create outcome-driven programs that accommodate diverse learning styles and schedules, including full-time, part-time and field-based employees 
  • Own the end-to-end professional development calendar, designing and facilitating 30+ annual workshops while building delivery capacity through the Learning & Development Specialist and train-the-trainer programming 
  • Expand professional development offerings with clear learning pathways tied to career stages, roles, and growth goals

Learning Systems & Operations 

  • Own the Learning Management System (LMS) strategy and overall effectiveness (currently Attensi) 
  • Delegate day-to-day LMS administration to the Learning & Development Specialist while maintaining accountability for content quality and system performance 
  • Establish KPIs, track program performance, and deliver regular analytics and recommendations to stakeholders 

Stakeholder Partnership & Vendor Management 

  • Close cross-functional collaboration with the entire People team function (People Operations, DEIB, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development) 
  • Serve as a strategic partner to corporate and field leadership on all learning and development initiatives 
  • Build strong relationships with department heads to surface development needs and co-create solutions 
  • Identify and manage external vendors and learning partners to supplement internal offerings 
  • Stay current on L&D trends and best practices; bringing innovation and fresh thinking to the function 

Team Leadership 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Learning & Development Specialist 
  • Create a collaborative, high-trust team environment with clear goals and meaningful development opportunities

What You Bring

Required 

  • 3+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated track record of growing and developing team members 
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering leadership development programs, ideally for field-based or frontline leader populations 
  • Hands-on instructional design expertise using Articulate 360 (Storyline and/or Rise) 
  • Experience administering or managing an LMS; platform-agnostic - familiarity with any modern LMS is valued 
  • Strong ability to design for multiple audiences 
  • Experience building strategic learning roadmaps and annual planning calendars 
  • Strong data orientation - ability to establish KPIs, analyze program effectiveness, and make evidence-based recommendations 
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; confident presenting to senior leaders 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Nice to Have 
  • Experience supporting both HQ/corporate and field populations within the same organization 
  • Background in fitness, retail, hospitality, other multi-location or multi-unit environments 
  • Familiarity with Attensi or similar engagement-based LMS platforms
