The UPS Store (TUPSS) Instructional Design Videographer Specialist is responsible for creating video content that supports the knowledge and skill development of training programs and materials for The UPS Store franchise network, utilizing instructional design methods to design and apply effective video instruction.

They work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), managers, vendors, and various cross-functional teams to understand aspects of policies, procedures, systems, and skills that require instruction, and to recommend appropriate video training solutions that align with project and company objectives.

They upload new training elements into the learning management system (LMS) for the franchise network. The TUPPS Instructional Design Videographer Specialist manages and coordinates projects to create video content and other resources applicable to business unit needs and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Content Conceptualization: Coordinates with Instructional Design team members, SMEs, and project managers throughout video course development (i.e., initial planning, content brainstorming sessions, media development, and scriptwriting) to meet goals and objectives.
  • Planning and executing video shoots, including location scouting and directing. Capturing high-quality video and audio footage. Setting up and operating cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Oversee the casting, coordination, and management of principal talent, background performers, and voice actors, ensuring alignment with production goals, schedules, and creative direction.
  • Editing video and audio footage, adding graphics, closed captioning, and special effects.
  • Managing video libraries and assisting with distribution strategies across various platforms.
  • Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop creative concepts, storyboards, and scripts.
  • Keeping current with video trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through various methods and make data-driven improvements to enhance future training initiatives.
  • Convert existing instructional materials (Job Aids, QRGs, FAQs, etc.) into microlearning video formats to promote learner engagement that meets project specifications.
  • Gathers data on training needs and learning interventions to integrate the design of training materials and programs.
  • Collects content for development of training materials (e.g., text, graphics, animations, audio, glossary, test questions, etc.) to ensure alignment with training and learning development strategies.
  • Reviews procedures and guidelines for training programs and learning interventions to guarantee instructional materials meet outlined learning and training goals across business units.
  • Identifies the most recent innovation in the technology of online video learning and suggests ways that training projects could be updated or improved.

RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrates a general understanding of ways to identify and measure the current needs of the customer or business; uses the business need to help define the project's requirements.
  • Strong storytelling abilities, visual design sense, and the ability to create engaging and informative video content.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and proper use of video equipment.
  • Applies knowledge of adult learning theory and course design to the creation of instructional materials; evaluates existing analysis to identify learning gaps and provide recommendations; assists in the alignment of training to business outcomes; demonstrates ability to identify implementation gaps and provides suggestions for improvement; identifies appropriate measurement to assess learning.
  • Multicultural Agility: Recognizes the importance of understanding global and cultural diversity; interested in learning about cultural differences that impact business.
  • Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for the area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager.
  • Ensuring all aspects of video production, from filming to editing, are executed at a high standard.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Video Production, Visual Communications, Journalism, Media Production, Digital Media, or related discipline.
  • Experience developing corporate training video content and/or materials.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in video production and editing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in video cameras, lighting, audio recording, and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position would be $31.05/hr. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
