Location: Mundelein, IL
Schedule: Full-Time | 4 Shifts Per Week | Flexible Scheduling Availability is Needed | Days, Nights & Weekends will apply | Either 3 Twelve OR 4 Nine Hour Shifts Per Week | Weekends Required | Participation in Some Holiday Coverage
Compensation: $28-36+/hr, Depending On Experience | Applicable Shift Differentials - $5/hr for Overnights

We will be returning to 24 hour Emergency hours in early 2027!In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:
  • Lead hands-on clinical training for Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians, providing both direct instruction and train-the-trainer support.
  • Welcome and mentor new team members through structured onboarding, individualized development plans, and ongoing coaching.
  • Design, coordinate, and deliver engaging in-service training sessions in partnership with our Learning & Development team.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain technician protocols to promote consistency, quality, and best practices in patient care.
  • Assess and track clinical competencies, documenting training progress and supporting skill advancement across all technician levels.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and Learning & Development to coordinate continuing education opportunities, guest speakers, and professional development initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative culture of continuous learning by encouraging knowledge sharing, mentorship, and clinical excellence.
  • Serve as a hands-on clinical leader within the ICU, leading by example and supporting exceptional patient care alongside the technician team.
  • Identify training needs and implement solutions that strengthen technical skills, confidence, and team performance throughout the hospital.
  • Champion a positive, supportive learning environment that empowers team members to grow professionally while delivering outstanding care to patients and clients
What You Bring:
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Emergency and/or ICU veterinary medicine.
  • Advanced technical and clinical nursing skills with the confidence to manage complex and critical cases.
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing fellow Veterinary Technicians and Assistants.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and inspire others.
  • Experience creating or delivering training programs, coaching team members, or serving as a clinical mentor is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track progress, manage multiple priorities, and follow through on development plans.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.
  • Flexibility to support training across varying schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
