Description

As a Member Consultant at Sandia Area, you are the face of our branch – the person our members turn to for trusted financial guidance and everyday banking needs. This full-time, onsite role blends relationship building with hands-on financial expertise, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference in members financial lives while growing your own career in a supportive, community focused credit union.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consultative Service: Build member relationships, open accounts, and guide members through loan applications.
  • Transaction Accuracy: Securely handle cash, process financial transactions, and balance drawers flawlessly.
  • Member Advocacy: Proactively identify financial needs to meet or exceed individual and branch performance goals.
  • Branch Agility: Adapt to changing branch needs, assisting with opening, closing, and routine operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to credit union policies, financial laws, BSA, and OFAC regulations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and member service skills to cultivate meaningful relationships and deliver exceptional member experiences.
  • Ability to explain and recommend financial products using a consultative, member-first approach that prioritizes financial well-being.
  • Adept at learning and utilizing new banking technologies, systems, and processes to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, interpret credit reports, and provide appropriate banking recommendations tailored to member needs.
  • Proficiency in executing financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve member concerns and overcome operational challenges.
  • Must be able to transition from station to station as needed to serve members.

Education and Experience Requirement

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one year of customer service, financial services, or sales experience, preferably within a credit union or banking environment.
