The Instructional Assistant will assist teachers in preparing and managing classroom activities, providing one on one or small group instruction and assisting with administrative tasks.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in maintaining student records and provide feedback as requested by teacher.
  • Conduct instructional activities outlined by teacher and works with students to develop various skills.
  • Provides small group activities for differentiated instruction in the multi-grade level classroom.
  • Provides positive student behavior management support.
  • Monitors online instructional programs, as assigned.
  • Assist with supervision of students with instruction or activities that may fall within or outside the classroom environment.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, neat and orderly learning space.
  • Implements support and individual student accommodations.
  • Follow district guidelines in maintaining classroom management, discipline and confidentiality.
  • Participate in required staff development, staff meetings, special events, and school sponsored activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
  • Manages personal timesheet and abides by payroll procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High school diploma (or recognized equivalent) required
  • Completed at least 48 hours of college credit; or
  • Obtain an associate's (or higher) degree
  • Able to remain on feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to life/carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in an educational environment preferred
  • Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment. Non-refundable fee paid by employee.
