Lead Preschool Teacher - The Finch Academy

 The Finch Academy is Seeking Lead Preschool Teachers

Salary: $22.67-$39.23 Hourly

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00pm

Location: The Finch Academy, 4222 NE 12th Ave., Portland, OR 97211

Position Summary

The Finch Academy preschool is seeking experienced LeadPreschool Teachers to join our team! We are looking for an outgoing, kind, nurturing leader for children from 3 years to 5 years of age. 

The Lead Preschool Teacher ensures, supports, and promotes each childโ€™s learning, well-being, and development in cooperation with their parents and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with the State of Oregon Department of Learning and Care (DELC). Ensures the classroom and related student activities correlate with established The Finch Academy goals, objectives and work plans.

To qualify applicants must have the following:

Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Minimum of a Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or child development OR any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND six months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children. Lead Teachers must be on Step 7 on the Oregon Registry Online or hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

Required Licensing or Other Certifications:

Certified Infant/Child CPR and First Aid training. 

Enrollment in the Office of Child Careโ€™s Central Background Registry (CBR) Current Food Handlers Certification 

Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education is desirable, not required.

Training and/or education in working with children with special needs is desirable, not required.
