Posting Context Statement
Position Overview
Reporting to the Career Services Director, the Associate Director for Employer Relations, Experiential Learning and Events serves on the Career Service's Leadership Team and provides leadership for the Employer Relations, Experiential Learning and Events staff. The Associate Director is responsible for leading innovative and impactful event programming such as career fairs and networking nights, and developing relationships with employers.
Ensuring that exemplary experiential learning programs are provided, the Associate Director will work closely with academic departments/colleges and employers to develop innovative experiential learning opportunities. The Associate Director will coordinate career advising services within the Career Services and will provide leadership to the Employer Relations staff to make sure students are connecting with potential internship and career employers. The Associate Director will develop and maintain relationships with current and future employers to support all of the Career Services programs. The Associate Director will conduct assessment and provide reports to the Director and staff on all programming and events.

Required Experience
  • Three years working in employer relations, public relations, marketing, event planning, advertising, and/or development/fundraising.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Advising students in individual and/or group settings.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Membership eligibility in relevant organizations.
  • Ability to work nonstandard business hours to address event needs.
  • Ability to travel regionally, in-state and out-of-state on a periodic basis.

Additional Preferred
Education:
  • Master's Degree in related field.

Experience:
  • Professional work experience in career counseling, advising/mentoring, student development, or career education.
  • Progressive experience working in a cooperative education or experiential learning role.
  • Experience developing/implementing program assessments (collecting/analyzing data, and preparing reports and recommendations).

Skills/Ability to:
  • Past success in development/fundraising efforts.
  • Effective leadership skills and experience managing, training, and supervising professional staff and/or student employees.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience coordinating and implementing programs/projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Career Services management databases, on-line career technologies, social media, presentation software, etc.).
  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment to accomplish shared goals.
