Job Title: Learning & Development Coordinator -Education and Vocation

Reports To: Program Director

Hours: 35/hours - Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000

Summary: The Learning and Development Coordinator for Education and Vocation Division will facilitate the division’s training objectives and training compliance by maintaining records of and schedules for employee training.

Organize

• Organizes and coordinates training sessions; reserves space for training, ensures that audiovisual equipment is available and operating, distributes materials such as handouts and quizzes, and handles other similar details and tasks.
• Maintains records of attendance and successful completion of training.
• Develops or assists with development of and maintains a division-specific training calendar; tracks required initial and refresher training schedules.
• Researches and examines training products, reviews samples, demonstrations, and website content, and suggests additions or enhancements of the division’s training library to the [division-specific collaborative work group].

Partner

• Partner with supervisors within the division to support their teams’ training access, coordination needs, and compliance reporting needs.

Communicate

• Customize and deliver training-related communication based on the [division-specific collaborative workgroup]’s division-specific communication plan.

Support

• Assists the [division-specific collaborative work group] and other training staff with their assigned duties.
• Provide support to training participants in virtual instructor-led and classroom training as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Objectives for FY26-FY27

• Leadership Outreach: During the first two months, connect with Vice Presidents within the various Education program divisions to determine their training communication preferences, staff access to spaces and technology for learning, and top training scheduling priorities. Create a plan for consistent and proactive outreach based on each division's training mandates and goals.
• Coordination Workflow: Within the three months, work with Education CPO and leadership on creating a calendar/schedule to establish a balanced distribution of time across program divisions.
• Assist with staff becoming proficient with the tools and templates as used in learning and development coordination which includes learning management system participant registration, survey tool(s), Microsoft Outlook templates and groups, Zoom registration, PDF signature and workflow, and Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Team Collaboration: During the first two months, meet with members of the Mission and Learning and key contacts in other support divisions. Demonstrate taking initiative to help others, to learn your colleagues’ communication preferences and working styles, to anticipate and communicate potential workflow and collaboration problems, and to utilize humble inquiry to build collaborative work relationships.

• Service and Support:
  • Assist program leadership in identifying challenges in completing mandatory trainings and assist with implementing a schedule and tools that will assist staff in completing training within the first three months.
  • Provide continuous support to program leadership in creating new and improving current trainings in order to improve job performance of staff and overall program impact (partnering with Education specialists and other staff who specifically work on creating trainings for staff development).

• Performance objectives may shift based on program needs.

• Culture: Support in establishing and strengthening a culture of learning and development in the Education Division.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree required.
• At least two years of experience in a related field highly desired.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
• Ability to use public transportation for travel to program locations throughout New York City.
