Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree with at least 12 credits in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, plus one year of full-time teaching experience and one year of staff supervision experience in an early childhood setting
  • An Associateโ€™s degree in early childhood education or a related field with a plan of study toward a Bachelorโ€™s degree or a New York State Childrenโ€™s Program Administrator Credential, plus two years of full-time teaching experience and two years of staff supervision experience
  • A New York State Childrenโ€™s Program Administrator Credential with one year of full-time teaching experience and one year of staff supervision experience
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) or other office-recognized credential, with a plan of study toward a Bachelorโ€™s degree or a New York State Childrenโ€™s Program Administrator Credential, plus two years of full-time teaching experience and two years of staff supervision experience.

  • Medically cleared to perform all job duties

  • Able to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
