Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a Full-Time High School Automation Instructor to join our team in Logan, Utah. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to introduce high school students to the world of industrial automation, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
As a High School Automation Instructor, you'll help students develop the technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and confidence needed to pursue careers in today's rapidly evolving manufacturing and automation industries. Through engaging classroom instruction, project-based learning, and real-world applications, you'll prepare students for future education and high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing.

What You'll Do
As a High School Automation Instructor, you'll create engaging learning experiences that prepare students for future success in advanced manufacturing and industrial automation.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Plan, develop, and deliver organized learning opportunities aligned with approved curriculum.
  • Teach automation concepts including PLCs, robotics, industrial controls, sensors, pneumatics, electrical systems, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide hands-on instruction using industry-standard automation equipment and software.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.
  • Assess student learning through projects, demonstrations, assignments, and practical evaluations.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate student records and support student advising and career exploration.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and local high schools to promote student success and program excellence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to ensure curriculum reflects current workforce needs.
  • Model professionalism, workplace safety, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of instructional equipment and laboratory resources.
  • Support program development and continuous improvement initiatives.
