Senior Counsel 

Hybrid Schedule 

The Senior Counsel is a strong legal partner who will guide the organization though complex legal and business situations. The Senior Counsel will deploy their broad skills to designated areas which will be assigned based on the person's skills, experience, and Enterprise needs. Senior Counsel enthusiastically partners with Pella leadership to provide timely, cost-effective, and ethical legal solutions that optimize Pella's risk profile and accelerate results. 

The Senior Counsel is an experienced legal advisor who adjusts to changing circumstances and performs well in a dynamic business setting. Their span of influence will be enterprise-wide and will touch many functions, business units, and subsidiaries. This person supervises and leads outside counsel and provides value-added business solutions that optimize risk and seize opportunities. This role will report to the Associate General Counsel. The Senior Counsel will make a meaningful, positive impact in the short term while growing and developing to an increased impact over time. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business partnership and Legal risk optimization leadership for the agreed upon subsidiaries, functions, and areas of the law. 
  • This person will also work with the Associate General Counsels in partnering with the business in other areas.
  • Supervise and lead outside counsel and array of subject matter experts to optimize Pella's risk profile to achieve Pella's goals.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years' experience in a law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
  • Proven history of partnering with business leadership to maximize business results and optimize risk profile.
  • Ability to solve problems in an uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to move with speed and agility with a high sense of urgency & willingness to act.
  • Learning, caring and results oriented and embraces a winning mindset.
  • Drives change through continuous improvement.
  • Leads courageously with the ability to collaborate and influence cross functionally.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • J.D. from an accredited university and licensed to practice law.
