Job description

The Voluntary Pre-kindergarten Education Program, VPK, prepares early learners for success in kindergarten and beyond. VPK helps build a strong foundation for school using educational material corresponding to various stages in a child's development.  The VPK Assistant Teacher is responsible for instructing 4-year old's, based on needs of each child, and the requirements of the program under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. 

As an Assistant Teacher, you are:

  • Caring! Follow all licensing guidelines, company standards and grant program requirements to ensure the daily care of every child in your classroom.
  • Engaged! Develop your ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families.
  • Knowledgeable! Complete extensive training that provides insight on child care, preschool and development topics.
  • Creative! Implement curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences for the children.

We want energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who have:

  • Associates in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related or an active CDA in Preschool.
  • Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
  • The ability to meet state requirements for education and our center requirements.
  • Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
