About This Role

Future Leaders of Excellence is seeking a passionate and dependable Early Childhood Educator who is committed to shaping strong foundations for young learners. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a team-based environment, takes ownership in the classroom, and creates a structured yet nurturing space where children can learn, explore, and thrive.


As the lead educator, you will guide daily classroom operations, set expectations for learning and behavior, and ensure instruction is developmentally appropriate for each child. You will support children’s growth across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas while maintaining strong communication with families and staff. Collaboration, consistency, and a positive leadership presence are key to success in this role.


What You'll Do
  • Lead daily classroom instruction and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with early learning standards
  • Supervise and support assistant teachers to ensure consistent classroom practices
  • Monitor and assess each child’s developmental progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment at all times
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety procedures, and center policies
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, observations, and incident reports
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development

Requirements
  • Child Development Associate credential, Technical Certificate, or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field accepted
  • Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Must successfully complete and maintain TDHS-required background checks, including fingerprinting and reference verification
  • Must pass a pre-employment health screening as required under Tennessee Child Care Licensing Regulations
  • Must be willing to work toward early childhood certification if not already completed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work full time in an active, fast-paced classroom environment
  • Ability to engage in active supervision, including frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting on the floor with children
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds as needed
  • Ability to see and hear clearly, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to detect and respond to child cues and environmental sounds
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with children and adults in a busy classroom environment
  • Must be willing to work toward an early childhood certification
