Job description

Manager, Learning & Development I Remote | Multi-State Franchise Organization

About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing multi-unit franchise organization operating nearly 200 locations across multiple states and serving more than one million customers annually. As the organization continues to evolve, they are seeking a Manager, Learning & Development to help establish and formalize foundational learning initiatives that support both field and corporate employees.

This is an exciting opportunity for a learning and development professional who enjoys building programs from the ground up, influencing leaders across an organization, and creating scalable training solutions that support employee growth and operational excellence.

Position Summary

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys creating structure where it does not yet exist and can effectively influence stakeholders without formal authority.

The role will focus on establishing foundational learning processes, improving training consistency, and helping shape the future direction of employee development across a geographically dispersed workforce.

  • Assess current training programs, onboarding practices, and learning resources.
  • Develop a roadmap for learning and development initiatives across the organization.
  • Identify training opportunities, skill gaps, and areas for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with operational leaders to align training programs with business objectives.
  • Recommend learning solutions that support employee engagement, retention, and performance.

Content Creation & Training Enhancement

  • Create and update training materials, guides, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Develop engaging learning content and resources to support onboarding and employee development.
  • Enhance and expand existing training provided through external vendors and franchise partners.
  • Support learning initiatives for both field and corporate employees.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Operations, and business leaders to understand development needs.
  • Influence leaders at all levels of the organization without direct authority.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor regarding employee development and training best practices.
  • Help build a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor training effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Gather feedback and make recommendations for future development opportunities.
  • Research new learning methods, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with learning-related budgeting, planning, and prioritization.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of Learning & Development, Training, Organizational Development, or related experience.
  • Experience creating or enhancing training programs and onboarding initiatives.
  • Background supporting customer-facing, multi-unit, hospitality, retail, restaurant, franchise, or service-based environments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed employee populations.
  • Exposure to franchise, hospitality, retail, fitness, or operational environments.
  • Experience developing learning strategies, SOPs, or training roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with learning technologies and training platforms.
  • Experience influencing leaders and driving organizational change.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Naturally curious and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable building programs and processes from the ground up.
  • Practical, resourceful, and solutions-oriented.
  • Passionate about helping employees grow and develop.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to evolving initiatives.
  • Skilled at influencing stakeholders and gaining buy-in across the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Target Base Salary: $100,000 (Depending on Experience)
  • Annual Bonus Opportunity
  • Competitive overall compensation package

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Life Insurance
  • Long-Term Disability Coverage
  • Flexible Work Environment
  • Additional employee wellness and membership-related benefits

Work Arrangement

  • Fully Remote Position
  • Preference for candidates located within reasonable travel distance of a major airport and with accessibility to Central Texas when needed
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training initiatives, or operational support

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Newly established role with the opportunity to build foundational learning programs.
  • Significant visibility with Human Resources and Operational leadership.
  • Opportunity to influence employee development across a large multi-state organization.
  • Entrepreneurial environment where ideas and recommendations are valued.
  • Strong culture focused on growth, development, and employee success.
  • Ability to make a meaningful impact without managing a large team.

This is an ideal opportunity for an L&D professional who enjoys building, influencing, and creating long-term development strategies while growing alongside a dynamic and evolving organization.
