We are seeking an enthusiastic preschool teacher assistant to help guide a young children's classroom in various educational activities, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and class outings. Your prime responsibility is to assist the lead teacher in the fundamental concepts our preschoolers need to start learning for prekindergarten, such as identifying numbers and letters, socializing well with others, and working effectively in a classroom structure.

Patience, compassion, and energy are all vital adult qualities in a successful preschool classroom. You should be capable of inspiring, encouraging, and developing young children, each of whom will have different abilities, challenges, and personalities. The top candidates will also have a creative mindset and good administrative skills to plan and execute memorable, innovative lessons that achieve the desired learning outcomes.

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties:

Teaching children about core concepts, such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors.

Using creative, hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, and storytelling.

Planning a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements.

Instilling a sense of respect and discipline, so that children work effectively in a classroom setting.

Supervising children outside of class time, such as during lunch, out on the playground, or field trips.

Making sure that the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized, following all licensing and health inspection guidelines.

Setting up the materials and workspaces required for class activities.

Communicating with parents to learn more about each child's life outside the classroom.

Creating reports to inform parents about their children's progress at school.

Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills, both at the campus level and the state level.

Work with a group of sixteen 4-5-year-old children for two classes each day.

Assist the lead teacher with preparing lesson plans, weekly prep work, and rearranging the classroom according to thematic units.

Aid in student assessments and participate in parent-teacher conferences twice a year.

Support daily teaching activities, focusing on math, art, science, weekly themes, storytime, and letter and number work.

Assist with daily classroom cleanup, including between classes and at the end of the day.

Participate in driveline duty at the end of each day and on early release days.

Engage in monthly professional development through PDIS online, and attend monthly staff meetings and Friday morning team meetings.

Work Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM

Collaborate with classroom parents during daily drop-offs and pick-ups.

Work with the lead teacher and parents to organize three classroom parties annually.

Attend the gala teacher treasure event with winning students.

Adhere to all state, school, and health department regulations for Colorado-licensed preschool programs.

Cooperate with the preschool 3s teachers as part of the team.

Requirements:

experience teaching children in the 3-5 age group.

Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.

Compile, maintain, and file reports, records, and other documents required.

Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Ability to communicate with and oversee colleagues within the PreK program

Ability to communicate with various licensing and facilities manager

Perform other duties as assigned.

Computer, interactive whiteboards, document cameras, Chromebooks, and software necessary for administrative and educational tasks.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Be able to meet the mental demands of teaching assignments (i.e. maintain emotional control under stress). Be able to meet the physical demands of teaching assignments (i.e. frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing). Be able to maintain an environment conducive to teaching and learning (i.e. moving media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment).

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policy and expectation documents, staff agreements, and evaluation rubric documents. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents, staff, teachers, and school administrators.
