Early Intervention Developmental Specialistย

As an Early Intervention Developmental Specialist,ย youโ€™llย partner with families of infants and toddlers (birthโ€“3) to support developmental growth during the most critical years of life. Through home visits, community-based services, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams,ย youโ€™llย help children build the skills they need to thrive.ย 

Whatย Youโ€™llย Doย 

Deliver family-centered servicesย 

  • Provide home and community-based visits using developmentallyย appropriate, evidence-informed strategiesย 
  • Support children in fullyย participatingย in inclusive community settings with typical peersย 
  • Conduct telehealth sessions as neededย 

Lead IFSP coordination and progress monitoringย 

  • Partner with families to develop, implement, and update Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)ย 
  • Coordinate services and supportsย identifiedย in the IFSPย 
  • Monitor functional outcomes and complete six-month reviews and required documentationย 
  • Assistย with transition planning at least six months prior to discharge, including referrals and participation in IEP meetings when applicableย 

Collaborate and advocateย 

  • Serve as a liaison between families, ancillary providers, and school systemsย 
  • Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and team meetingsย 
  • Ensure services and communication are culturally and linguistically responsiveย 

ย 

Maintain compliance and documentationย 

  • Complete session notes andย requiredย paperwork within established timelinesย 
  • Maintainย accurateย records for assigned childrenย 
  • Follow DPH and organizational standards for documentation, confidentiality, and trainingย 

Whatย Youโ€™llย Bringย 

Requiredย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Child Development, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or related fieldย 
  • Minimum of four approved 3-credit courses focused on infants and toddlersย 
  • At leastย 300 hoursย of practicum or work experience with children under age fiveย 
  • Strong time management skills
  • Works well as part of a team
