Job description

Are you a dedicated philosophy educator with a knack for making challenging content and complex arguments easy and fun to analyze? If so, we'd love to have you join our vibrant team at UWorld, a leading education company in MCAT and other high-stakes exam preparation! We're on a mission to help students excel in their careers and beyond, and we're looking for Philosophy professors with training in analytic philosophy to bring their expertise in logic, critical thinking, and textual analysis to our high-quality learning materials.

What You'll Do
  • Develop high-quality educational content with a particular focus on the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section of the MCAT. This includes:
  • Creating original MCAT-style CARS passages, questions, and comprehensive answer explanations
  • Applying expertise in logic, critical thinking, argument analysis, and close reading to create challenging but fair assessment items
  • Developing additional digital and print materials for the CARS curriculum including books and video PowerPoints and scripts
  • Ensuring all content aligns with the MCAT CARS blueprint and reflects standardized-examination practices and best practices in instructional design
  • Collaborating with editors, illustrators, and fellow content developers to produce accurate, clear, and engaging materials that adhere to UWorld standards
  • Incorporating student and internal feedback promptly to keep materials accurate and in line with testing standards
  • Collaborating with management and team members to ensure production goals and deadlines are met
  • Communicating effectively with quality assurance, customer care, IT, and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve content-related technical issues
What You'll BringMinimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Philosophy required; PhD in Philosophy preferred
  • Training and expertise in the analytic style of philosophy
  • At least 1 year of post-graduate teaching and/or research experience in logic and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated skill in writing and reviewing academic or instructional content
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic technology tools (AI expertise is a plus!)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing multiple-choice questions or test-preparation materials
  • Experience teaching critical reading, logic, argumentation, rhetoric, composition, or interdisciplinary humanities courses
  • Background in instructional design or curriculum development
