Job Overviewย 

Kardiganย isย seekingย an experienced and strategicย Executive Director, People & Culture Business Partnerย to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across multiple functions and lead People & Culture initiatives at ourย South San Francisco,ย CAย site. This role will be instrumentalย in shaping and executing workforce strategies that align withย Kardigan'sย mission and values, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and purpose-driven culture.ย 
ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

  • Serve as theย People & Culture site leadย forย Kardigan'sย South San Franciscoย location, ensuring alignment with company-wideย People & Cultureย strategiesย and values.ย ย 
  • Act as aย strategic business partnerย toย senior leaders acrossย Research, Translational, New Targets, Discovery Research, and other functions, providing guidance on organizational design, talent strategy, and change management.ย ย 
  • Leadย workforce planningย efforts, including headcount forecasting, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.ย ย 
  • Drive initiatives that supportย employee engagement, performance management, and leadership development.ย ย 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution ofย People & Cultureย programs and policies.ย ย 
  • Championย Kardigan'sย values and culture, fostering an environment of authenticity, collaboration, and continuous learning.ย ย 
  • Provide coaching and counsel to leaders and managers on team dynamics,ย employee relations,ย performance, and development.ย ย 
  • Partner withย Peopleย & Culture centers of excellence includingย Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Learning & Development to supportย Kardigan'sย growth and employee experience.ย 

Qualificationsย and Preferred Qualificationsย ย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย required;ย advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.ย ย 
  • Minimum ofย 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at leastย 5 years in a strategic business partner roleย supporting senior leadership.ย Experience in Biotech/Pharmaย highlyย desirable.ย ย 
  • Proven experience inย workforce planning,ย employee relations, andย organizational development.ย ย 
  • Demonstratedย experienceย as a strategic talent advisor to executive and senior leadersย acrossย scientificย functions, including Research, Translational Sciences, New Targets, and Discovery Research.ย 
  • Proven success partnering with executive leaders to scale both site-based operations and functional organizations during periods of rapid growth and organizational evolution.ย 
  • Strongย interpersonal andย communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization.ย ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in aย fast-paced, start-up environment.ย ย
