Who We Are

From the beginning, Genentech has been a team of highly dedicated, passionate individuals. We are a place where people are united around a single purpose and an ambitious vision. Together, we aspire to deliver ever better health outcomes for patients while lowering overall healthcare costs. Our goal is to compel the customer to act on behalf of their patients while showing great commitment to the rare disease community, whose support is key. Utilizing innovative methods to identify patients who may benefit from treatment, we must take a highly strategic approach to patient access while assisting patients and their caregivers to navigate the healthcare system.

The Opportunity

The Squad Business Partner is a critical, high-impact role responsible for developing, delivering, and managing training and continuous education for our field-based Customer Engagement teams on dedicated squad strategies. This home office position serves as the primary training and performance enablement link between the home office, the field, and squads, ensuring consistent messaging, skill development, and execution of company strategy.

  • Onboarding & Capability Building: Design and deliver comprehensive remote and in-person onboarding programs for Customer Engagement hires, driving proficiency in scientific/clinical product knowledge and engagement standards.
  • Continuous Education & Curriculum Management: Develop and deliver interactive training modules (webinars, e-learning, workshops) on product launches, regulatory updates, and on-label clinical data in compliance with FDA guidelines.
  • Dynamic Facilitation: Act as an energetic, credible facilitator across national training events, regional squad meetings, and director-level strategic sessions.
  • Certification & Governance: Develop and execute compliant certification strategies across commercial field roles while integrating diverse perspectives and modern adult learning frameworks.
  • Field Coaching & Performance Support: Conduct regular field visits and ride-alongs to observe engagement behaviors, offer real-time coaching, and partner with leadership to address performance gaps.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) liaison connecting field teams, Squad Learning Business Partners, and Therapeutic Area Squads to translate complex science into actionable learning tools.
  • Learning Innovation & Analytics: Leverage modern learning technologies (AI tools, LMS) and analytics to measure training effectiveness and tie skill development directly to business impact.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience); MBA or other related graduate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with facilitation experience.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience leading deliverables across a remote team, and can quickly organize functional teams to design and develop learning projects.
  • 5+ years of proven background in delivering highly technical/scientific data to small and large groups.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and virtual/in-person facilitation skills to be used in national meetings, main stage, external events, and director-level meetings with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven ability to manage a demanding schedule, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives.
  • Ability to interpret sales and performance data to inform training strategies.
  • Previous experience in completing & implementing attainable business plans.
  • Strong relationship-builder capable of earning trust and credibility with both field teams and home office stakeholders.
