Job Description and Duties

Sentral is seeking a highly driven, relationship-focused Vice President of Development to lead new business development efforts and expand Sentral's footprint across multifamily and hospitality markets. This role will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and closing new management opportunities while building long-term strategic relationships with owners, developers, investors, and capital partners. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, commission-driven, and deeply connected within the real estate industry, with a proven ability to generate pipeline, open doors, and drive growth through both strategic networking and direct business development efforts. This role is central to Sentral's expansion strategy and will play a critical role in growing our portfolio in high-velocity multifamily and hospitality markets.

This will be an hybrid role which will work remotely and travel to local markets with our Development Team.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive new management agreements and portfolio growth
  • Originate new owner, developer, and investor relationships through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and strategic prospecting
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across target markets
  • Conduct prospect tours, presentations, and capability meetings with prospective owners and development partners
  • Lead relationship management efforts throughout the business development lifecycle, from introduction through contract execution and onboarding
  • Negotiate and support the closing of management agreements in partnership with executive leadership and legal teams
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions between development, startup, and operations
  • Represent Sentral at industry events, conferences, networking functions, and market visits to strengthen brand awareness and expand relationships
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Revenue Management, Operations, Technology, and Accounting teams to support growth initiatives and operational scalability
  • Maintain detailed CRM records, forecasting, and regular pipeline reporting
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and strategic insight on emerging opportunities, trends, and partnerships
  • Consistently travel to project sites and key markets to strengthen relationships with owners, developers, and local stakeholders

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, economics, finance, architecture, development, design, or real estate, or the equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of sales and growth experience in real estate
  • 10+ years of sales, growth and underwriting experience in multifamily and/or hospitality real estate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT
  • Hybrid residential-hospitality and/or Class A multifamily experience required
  • Strong existing network among multifamily owners and developers
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to guide and motivate teams
  • Must have strong resolution skills and work well cross-functionally, able to identify solutions and think outside of box.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, planning, sales development and other related business management skills are essential.
  • Proven experience in leading people, programs, and processes and a proven track record in operations.
  • Ideal candidate would be able to travel 50%, or as needed
  • Existing relationships and network in Florida, Texas, or Georgia multifamily and hospitality markets
  • Experience sourcing deals with institutional and private capital ownership structures
  • Familiarity with flex-living, co-living, or extended-stay operating concepts
  • Prior experience closing management contracts with owners across multiple properties
