Position Summary

The Program Manager supports the Club Director in delivering high-quality youth development programs that promote the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County mission. This role assists in implementing programs aligned with the Club’s three priority outcomes:

  • Academic Success

  • Healthy Lifestyles

The Program Manager plays a key leadership role in planning, coordinating, and supervising youth programming while creating a safe, structured, and positive environment for Club members.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the responsibilities associated with this position. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Program Development & Implementation
  • Develop, plan, implement, and supervise youth development programs consistent with the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Assist the Club Director in implementing programs aligned with Boys & Girls Club core program areas.

  • Establish and conduct special programs designed to meet the needs of Club members.

  • Promote participation in Club programs, events, and activities.

  • Plan and organize activities utilizing community resources and partnerships.

  • Coordinate interdepartmental activities and special Club events.


Staff & Volunteer Support
  • Assist with the recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and supervision of program staff and volunteers.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Club staff regarding youth development best practices.

  • Assist with staff meetings and volunteer meetings.

  • Participate in the evaluation of program staff and volunteers.


Youth Development & Member Support
  • Provide mentorship, counseling, and follow-up support to members as needed.

  • Maintain discipline and appropriate behavior among Club members.

  • Identify individual member needs and provide appropriate guidance or referrals.

  • Build relationships with community partners, schools, and social service agencies to support youth development.


Program Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, activities, and member data.

  • Ensure programs operate according to Boys & Girls Club policies and standards.

  • Assist in monitoring program quality and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

  • Manage program budgets and assist in purchasing supplies and equipment.


Facility & Safety Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized Club environment.

  • Supervise care and maintenance of equipment, building areas, grounds, and organizational vehicles.

  • Identify and correct safety hazards within the Club.

  • Assist in maintaining general facility needs including minor maintenance tasks when necessary.


Member Supervision & Engagement
  • Supervise youth during program activities both indoors and outdoors.

  • Assist members with homework and academic enrichment activities.

  • Provide supervision during field trips and off-site activities.

  • Respond quickly and appropriately to behavioral or safety concerns.


Additional Responsibilities

Program Managers must also have the ability to:

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Supervise activities throughout the Club without disrupting programming.

  • Assist in any program area during emergencies or staffing shortages.

  • Drive organization vehicles when necessary.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and community partners.

  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members and families.


Minimum QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum three (3) years experience working with youth or youth development programs preferred.


Certifications
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred or willingness to obtain in the future.


Additional Requirements
  • Must maintain a safe driving record.

  • Must pass a Level 2 background screening.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
