About the role

As Head of Learning & Development, you will lead the learning and capability agenda for Maersk's North America Sales organization. Reporting into the Head of Sales Enablement, you will be responsible for developing and executing learning strategies that enhance commercial effectiveness, product knowledge, leadership capability, and sales performance.

You will lead a team of learning professionals while partnering closely with senior leaders, product teams, and stakeholders across the business to identify capability gaps, establish learning roadmaps, and drive a culture of continuous learning. This role combines strategic leadership, people management, stakeholder influence, and business acumen to ensure our sales teams are equipped to succeed across Maersk's integrated logistics portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the Learning & Development strategy aligned with North America Sales objectives and broader business priorities.
  • Lead the design and implementation of sales learning journeys, capability frameworks, and development programs that strengthen commercial effectiveness and product knowledge.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of learning professionals while fostering a high-performance culture
  • Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify capability gaps and prioritize learning investments that support business goals.
  • Establish and monitor learning effectiveness measures, using business outcomes, stakeholder feedback, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Customer Experience, and Subject Matter Experts to translate complex logistics solutions into practical learning programs and sales enablement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across local, regional, and global learning communities to share best practices and drive capability-building opportunities.

  • Experience assessing organizational capability needs and developing learning strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of sales processes, commercial capabilities, logistics, transportation, supply chain products, or integrated logistics solutions is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving change through influence, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
