Faculty Development Specialist
Locations: Jacksonville, NC Clearance Required: Secret Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
The JAAW Group LLC is seeking Faculty Development Specialists to build and sustain a high-performing instructional workforce across all MISTC locations. This position is responsible for managing instructor certification, conducting professional development workshops, and ensuring all MISTC instructors meet Marine Corps training standards.
Responsibilities
  • Manage Instructor Development Plans (IDPs) for all assigned instructors, maintaining both paper and electronic records in SharePoint and Teams
  • Execute structured instructor certification processes, ensuring new instructors are certified within four months of assignment
  • Plan and conduct quarterly instructor development workshops on doctrine, adult learning, digital tools, and instructional innovation
  • Deliver MCISD/SAT-E refresher training to sustain doctrinal instructional consistency
  • Develop and maintain Response Cell training lessons for BSTEX execution
  • Provide tailored adult learning instruction, helping faculty apply problem-centered and experience-based learning techniques
  • Conduct cross-site faculty evaluations and joint lesson rehearsals to prevent instructional drift
  • Monitor instructor performance through classroom observation, student critiques, and peer review
  • Produce Faculty Development Reports documenting workshop execution, certification status, and instructor readiness
  • Advise MISTC leadership on instructor readiness, professional development gaps, and certification compliance

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of instructor and faculty development experience
  • Expertise in adult learning theory and instructional methodology
  • Active Secret clearance
  • MCISD/SAT-E certification
  • Facilitating Learning Experience Course (FLEX) certification
  • Designing Learning Experience Course (DLEC) certification
  • Instructor Certification Management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Learning, or Curriculum Development

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior MISTC, TECOM, or Marine Corps schoolhouse experience
  • Experience managing distributed faculty development programs across multiple sites
  • Familiarity with MCTIMS and Learning Experience Review Board processes
