What You Will Do:

Effectively manage and implement engineering projects as assigned. Projects will include new product launches, technology advancements, design improvements, equipment modifications, upgrades, or replacements, and continuous improvement projects.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a scientific field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years working in Advanced Manufacturing, Equipment Design, Robotics, and applied engineering or automation.
  • Must be knowledgeable of facilities and equipment design and be able to plan and support all details related to the execution phase of projects, including mechanical and electrical installation, and permits for construction.
  • Engineering, Facilities Management, Automation, or other manufacturing environment requiring a strong technical background. Demonstrated successful project management and delivery of capital projects for manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated safety culture and value.
PreferredQualifications:
  • Experience in a Lean/Six Sigma environment is a plus.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, and 50001 is a plus.
  • Strong AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in Flammable Liquid or Combustible Dust environments is a plus.
Judgment and Decision Making:

This position requires strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to navigate the international elements of projects for a global company, including international travel. Decisions made in this position will directly affect the success of new product launches and have an attributable impact on the Manufacturing Plant’s P&L statement.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods on a concrete surface; may require working in a non-air-conditioned warehouse; May require work outdoors; Must be able to bend, kneel, and be flexible enough to inspect equipment sensors located in unusual positions on equipment.

Candidate should be confident applying cost-effective manufacturing concepts, methods, processes, and procedures . Scope of capital projects will range from $5K up to potentially $1M.

  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of packaging technology and provide recommendations to management concerning improvements or upgrades in packaging operations.
  • Design the layout of manufacturing operations to maximize efficient material flow and optimum application of the technological means of production.
  • Identify, select, cost justify, purchase, install, upgrade, modify, and improve capital equipment used in packaging.
  • Where necessary, design and supervise the building of specialty equipment that will enhance the productivity of packaging operations.
  • Ensure projects meet their full success criteria, including all safety, quality, performance, delivery, and budgetary requirements.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement activities that will maximize productivity and minimize cost in the application of technological and labor resources to the manufacturing process.
  • Provide support, guidance, and assistance to technical and production personnel.
  • Working with Packaging Optimization and Operations, perform line trials and validations for new packaging components.
  • Ensure that appropriate preventive maintenance programs are developed and implemented by technical and production personnel.
  • Supervise the activities of sub-contractors, suppliers, and service personnel.
  • Manage and implement all L’Oréal policies and procedures including but not limited to the Corporation’s Equal Employment Policy, safety and health procedures, etc.
