Position: HR Intern, Lewistown, PA


Department: Human Resources


Shift: Any days and hours, up to 20 +/- hours per week) flexible hours (w/consideration for classes and exams, etc., both summer and school year)


Other: Will pay and support work for credit simultaneously

Pay: $16 per hour


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime pay, if applicable


Job Summary:

This role performs various HR-related tasks for the HR community in PA with limited work nationwide focusing on the Lewistown facility. It is a learning role intended to develop the incumbent in all areas of HR, including talent acquisition, drafting policies, project work, ER and employment law, research in multiple areas supporting the team and Counsel, engagement and the company survey, personnel filing and other HR related work.


Responsibilities:

Perform various recruiting tasks, including writing job descriptions, conducting phone screens, participating in interviews and using online sourcing tools.


Read, draft, and analyze complex spreadsheets and documents. Math skills and the ability to work with Excel is required.


Conduct online research, including occasional basic legal research as assigned.


Write policies and procedures, while researching prior history, and utilizing AI.


Prepare and participate in leadership/development training programs.


Other special projects and analyses, as assigned, such as engagement survey and assisting with the performance review processes.

Qualifications:


BA/master’s degree candidate in the field of HR, Labor Relations, or related fields.

Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.

Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.

Must have experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Must be a self-starter, able to work independently or with minimal supervision.

Must be able to multitask and work on various projects in adherence to deadlines.
