Job description

Under the direction of the Manager, Continuous Improvement of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Process Improvement Manager is responsible for the planning, development, monitoring and maintenance of the Continuous Improvement (CI) program. Provide project management assistance to improve processes that impact key operational metrics, advise and educate personnel utilizing lean methodologies; and consult with senior management and executives on continuous improvement prioritization efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides administrative oversight to drive continuous improvement in alignment with Company goals. Oversees the plan, management, execution and tracking of all Process Improvement activities.
2. Utilizes knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean processes to define business opportunities and help design innovative solutions that will enable the organization to improve financial performance, team member and customer satisfaction, and efficiency of service delivery: including the facilitation of Kaizen events.
3. Collects and analyzes data from improvement initiatives and identifies areas of improvement. Works with department stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, and tracks progress towards improvement goals.
4. Identifies and addresses value optimization areas of improvement around outcome effectiveness, service, convenience and cost. Assess organizational performance and determine root cause(s) of performance issues.
5. Partners with Senior Leadership, Directors, Managers, Supervisors and front-line staff to develop and implement process improvement plans for achieving significant value results throughout the organization. Work with Sr leadership to prioritize improvement opportunities.
6. Proactively identifies and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of Continuous Improvement goals & objectives.
7. Provide training and strategic advice to property management to ensure they effectively support the lean program and the projects. Oversees the creation of reports and will report out to property senior management on all aspects of Process Improvement initiatives.
8. Utilizes project management best practices to oversee the implementation of projects, while adhering to organizational policies and procedures and applicable regulatory standards. Identify projects or best practices that can be replicated for deployment in other areas. Effectively support multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously without adversely affecting deadline commitments.
9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field, required.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in the field of Process Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or related methodologies is required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation of training, projects, or Kaizen events is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in hospitality and/or casino operations is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Must have prior working experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet and/or comparable project management tools.
  • Must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and confidentiality as the team member has access to confidential information including, but not limited to guest contact information, guest financial data, and enterprise financial data.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Professional certification such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belts certification is preferred.
  • Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
