Job description

Management Services Corporation (MSC), one of The Caton Companies, is central Virginia's leading property management company. We are looking for energetic and motivated individuals who want a great career at a growing company.

We are seeking full-time, experienced Landscapers. Responsible for executing all landscaping work on properties, including lawn & garden care and landscaping maintenance. Must be available to work Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and overtime/weekends as needed.

$17.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on skills/experience.

Main Duties

  • Maintain gardens and lawns, including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding
  • Weed and mulch landscape beds
  • Trim trees, hedges, and shrubs
  • Apply fertilizers, maintain landscape design features, remove weeds/dead plant material, and oversee repairs as necessary

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Overtime and weekend work as required, including on-call snow removal during and after snow events. Work is in Charlottesville, Virginia. Reliable commute or relocation to this area is required before starting work.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a landscaping or groundskeeping role preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to safely operate maintenance equipment, including tractors, mowers, leaf blowers, and aerators (or be willing to learn)
  • Lift 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of and outdoors job, including standing, bending, pulling, and climbing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Work well with a team or independently when necessary
  • Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time
  • Adhere to strict safety precautions
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations preferred
