The starting rate for this position is $20.57 per hour. This position is open until filled and may close at any time. Tuition reimbursement is also available for eligible employees. Essential Job Functions Operates commercial mowers, trimmers, edger, blowers, etc. Performs litter pick up and debris removal.
Installs season decorations along roadways. Performs general repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance work on parks facilities, equipment, and related facilities: installs and maintains playground equipment, benches, fences, sporting equipment, and other equipment. Performs snow removal on City sidewalks, buildings, grounds, and medians with snow blowers and snow shovels; responds to emergency calls during inclement weather or other emergency situations.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Must possess a Valid VA Driver's License Preference may be given to individuals with experience in landscaping. Special Requirements Must have or be able to obtain a Virginia Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and a Virginia Pesticide Registered Technician License within five months of hire.
This position requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions. Any individual selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check, driving record check, education/employer verification, along with a physical and drug screen.
