Job description

We use large data sets and analytic models to solve our most challenging problems. This includes mining and analyzing financial and operational data, designing and developing data systems and collaborating with internal partners to reveal insights that lead to great decisions.  The Data Analyst reports to the Business Analysis and Reporting Data Scientist.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide data science and advanced data analytics solutions and consulting to improve profitability and performance of the supply chain.  These solutions are implemented by leveraging vast amounts of data combined with skills in computer programming, statistics, mathematics, business analytics, machine learning, business intelligence and database design. These skills are used to deliver descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models to leadership in various corporate, retail, RBU, and other supply chain roles. This position requires an agile software development mindset and the ability to deliver end-to-end full-stack solutions, including ideation/ brainstorming, data/feature engineering, data wrangling, modeling/coding, testing, deploying/ implementing and leadership consulting.

Responsibilities include:
  • developing analytical models, including descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models to provide business insights and recommendations for Publix internal business processes in supply chain areas such as retail stores, RBUs, Corporate Forecasting and other support teams.
  • analysis and reporting, including development of interactive dashboards, leadership reporting, and ad hoc analysis to provide business insights and recommendations for retail stores, RBU's, support teams, and other supply chain business areas.
  • leadership consulting and advisory services utilizing knowledge of advanced analytical processes, data assets, and business processes for senior leadership, management, RBUs, support teams, and other supply chain business areas.
  • leading and participating in complex cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • continuous learning and maintenance & growth of professional skills in advanced data analytics.
