Nisga'a CIOPS delivers cleared professionals to support civilian and DoD customers worldwide across intelligence support, cyber/defensive cyber operations, IT O&M, infrastructure modernization, training, and logistics.

Summary:

The Storage and Virtualization Lead Engineer will provide engineering oversite for the SRV6 storage and virtualization environment for the operation of the PACAF BlackCore network.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation of storage and virtual platform configurations, policies, procedures, and conduct informal training for PACAF personnel.
  • Provide ongoing support for the maintenance of the storage and virtualization environment across all three sites.
  • Act as a technical lead in troubleshooting and incident management during management stack service interruptions.
  • Continuously monitor storage and virtual platform performance, adjusting configurations to ensure maximum resiliency and availability.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for storage and virtual platform environments, addressing connectivity, performance, and security issues, ensuring minimal downtime for mission-critical operations.
  • Assist the Government in the creation, consultation, revision, finalization, submission of the deliverables for RMF to include but not limited to the following:
    • System Security Plan
    • Ports Protocol Services Matrix (enclave)
    • Artifacts for control validation (STIG results, Policies, Scans, Charters, etc., unit provided)
    • Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) System Topology
  • Collect and develop A&A artifacts in accordance with AO Office

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of datacenter compute and virtualizations technology.
  • Professional level proficiency with virtualization concepts and storage protocols such as iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Fiber Channel over Ethernet, Network File System etc.
  • Ability to manage the entire storage and virtualization stack implementation process.
  • Overseeing hardware and software upgrades, installation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to Optimize network efficiency and ensure high application performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose complex network problems and provide effective
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Ability to oversee and produce accurate and comprehensive documentation.
  • In-depth experience collecting and developing A&A artifacts.
  • Ability to provide recommendations for mitigations & follow-on actions to include POAMs.
  • Experience with email, and other communication platforms to include but not limited to: MS Teams group chats, MS SharePoint site, and VoIP Phones.
  • Proficiency with the latest Microsoft tool suite (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to brief technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with DoD security standards, ATO processes, and compliance.
  • Understand the AF Cyber architecture and PACAF MOBs and GSUs roles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required.
  • DoD 8140, the DoD Cyber Workforce Manual Anyone (1) of the following:
    • Advanced - CISM or CISSO or CPTE or CySA+ or FITSP-A or GCSA or CISA or CISSP or CISSP-ISSEP or GSLC or GSNA
  • OR DoD 8570.1-M certified at Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 3 - Anyone (1) of the following:
    • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner Continuing Education (CASP+ CE)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or Associate - this means the individual has qualified for the certification except for the number of years' experience)
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Maintain relevant expert level industry certification (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE), Juniper Certified Internetworking Expert (JCIE).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience focused on Dell, Cisco and VMware solutions.
  • Maintain relevant professional level industry certification (VMware Certified Professional - VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator, VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design, Dell Technologies Proven Professional).
  • Experience briefing senior leaders and large audiences.
  • Ability to travel to PACAF MOBs and GSUs to conduct duties and responsibilities -at a maximum up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training is highly preferred prior to starJBPH-Hting; however, must have the ability to obtain within 3 days of starting and maintain certificates of completion for the following training:
    • Level 1 Anti-Terrorist Training - within the past year
    • Level A Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Training - within the past 1-2 years
    • USFK Training
    • DoD Cyber Awareness Challenge - within the past year
    • Operations Security (OPSEC) Awareness - within the past year
    • Derivative Classification IF103.16 - within the past year
    • Force Protection - within the past year

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000.
