Job description

Overview

Shape and develop the next generation of software, data and AI across our growing North American network. LOGISTEC, an Enstructure company, is seeking an accomplished technology leader to build on the foundations already in place. This is a high-impact mandate for a builder and change leader who will work with our teams to advance our software development vision, modernize our applications, expand the use of AI and strengthen common engineering practices while remaining closely connected to operational needs and business priorities. The successful candidate will lead Enstructure’s enterprise-wide software development organization, which is spread across Canada, the USA and Colombia.

LEAD - A multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 professionals

TRANSFORM - Enterprise applications, architecture, delivery and ways of working

ACCELERATE WITH AI - Expand the use of AI to optimize the team’s time, productivity and impact.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to Chief Technology Officer, you will own the strategy, execution and continuous improvement of business-critical applications and software-based solutions. You will lead software developers, BI/data warehouse specialists and QA analysts located across Canada & the United States.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD

  • Define and execute the application, software engineering, data and AI roadmap, connecting investment decisions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Build, coach and inspire a high-performing team; strengthen technical leadership, accountability, collaboration and succession capability.
  • Standardize engineering practices, delivery methods and governance across the network while preserving the agility needed to serve local operations.
  • Modernize the application portfolio by determining what to build, buy, integrate, simplify and consolidate, while maintaining the delivery of critical initiatives.
  • Guide architecture across cloud services, APIs, integrations, databases, distributed systems, SaaS and enterprise platforms.
  • Improve delivery predictability through Agile planning, transparent priorities, meaningful engineering metrics and disciplined portfolio management.
  • Advance DevOps and software quality through CI/CD, automated testing, code review, source control, release management and production reliability practices.
  • Embed Secure-by-Design and DevSecOps principles in partnership with Cybersecurity, including secure coding, identity, data protection, vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives and operational leaders, translating complex technology choices into clear business value, risk and investment decisions.
  • Introduce AI-assisted engineering practices that improve developer productivity, software quality, documentation, testing and delivery speed.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10+ years of progressive software development experience, including meaningful hands-on engineering experience earlier in your career, and 5+ years leading software engineering teams and technical leaders.
  • A record of delivering and modernizing complex, enterprise-scale applications in a multi-site or operationally distributed environment.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and delivering an AI or Generative AI strategy, moving use cases from concept to production with appropriate governance, security and adoption measures.
  • Deep understanding of modern architecture, cloud computing, APIs, integration, relational and NoSQL databases, distributed systems and secure software development.
  • Strong command of Agile/Scrum, DevOps and CI/CD, with the ability to improve delivery discipline, quality, reliability and speed.
  • Experience leading organizational change and harmonizing processes, standards and methodologies across diverse teams and locations.
  • Strong business judgment and executive presence, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and explain technical decisions to non-technical leaders.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional fluency in French and English, with the ability to collaborate across Canada and the United States.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across our North American network.

YOUR TECHNOLOGY PERSPECTIVE

You do not need to have worked with every tool in our environment, but you must be able to evaluate technologies, guide senior engineers and make sound architecture decisions. Relevant experience may include Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and modern data platforms; .NET/C#, PHP, JavaScript, Python, React or Angular; Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab or Jira; microservices, containers, SaaS and enterprise integrations; and application testing tools such as BrowserStack and Playwright.

THE LEADERSHIP PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Entrepreneurial and outcome-oriented: you create momentum, make decisions and turn strategy into measurable results.
  • A credible technology leader: you can engage deeply with architects and engineers without losing sight of business value.
  • A change catalyst: you bring people with you, challenge assumptions and create alignment across functions, companies and geographies.
  • A talent builder: you set a high bar, coach with clarity and create an environment where exceptional people can do their best work.
  • Pragmatic and accountable: you know when to build, buy, modernize, simplify or retire - and you take ownership of quality and production performance.

WHY JOIN US

This is a rare opportunity to shape a software development function at a pivotal moment, influence technology across a broad North American operating network, and make AI a practical driver of productivity and business performance. You will have the visibility, scope and leadership mandate to create lasting impact.
