Job description

100% Remote

We are currently recruiting a Tech Lead for a fast-growing Québec-based technology company undergoing a major transformation toward a true Product & Technology (P&T) organization.

The company is making significant investments in building its own cloud-native platform to gradually replace legacy commercial software. This platform will become the technological foundation of the business and, over time, has the potential to evolve into a commercial software product.

This is more than a traditional Tech Lead opportunity.

You'll help build a strategic software platform that will shape the company's technological future.

We're looking for a passionate technical leader who enjoys remaining hands-on, influencing architectural decisions, mentoring developers, and helping build a modern cloud platform from the ground up.

Responsibilities
  • Actively contribute to the development and evolution of a modern cloud platform.
  • Serve as the technical leader and primary technical reference for the development team.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Architecture to transform architectural vision into scalable technical solutions.
  • Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews and engineering best practices.
  • Design robust service-oriented (SOA) and distributed software architectures.
  • Develop APIs and integrations between multiple internal and external systems.
  • Participate in architectural, scalability, performance and platform evolution decisions.
  • Improve DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and software delivery processes.
  • Participate in production deployments and ensure platform reliability.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with teams working on Artificial Intelligence initiatives to progressively integrate AI capabilities into the platform.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, Senior Software Engineer or hands-on Software Architect.
  • Strong background building software products rather than only delivering client projects.
  • Excellent understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices and REST APIs.
  • Experience designing integrations and distributed systems.
  • Experience with C#, .NET, Python or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with React or another modern Front-End framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS or another cloud platform.
  • Good understanding of DevOps, CI/CD and production deployment practices.
  • Experience mentoring developers, performing code reviews and providing technical leadership.
  • Experience documenting technical solutions using Confluence or similar tools.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Curious, adaptable and passionate about continuous learning.
What Will Make You Successful
  • You enjoy building products, not just delivering projects.
  • You naturally take ownership of the software you develop.
  • You think long-term and enjoy solving architectural challenges.
  • You enjoy both software engineering and mentoring developers.
  • You're recognized for your technical rigor, autonomy and ability to deliver.
  • You thrive in environments where engineering excellence and innovation are valued.
Employment Details
  • Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week)
  • 100% remote available (Offices in Montreal or Quebec city)
  • Salary: $140,000 – $180,000+, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus
  • Group RRSP with employer contribution
  • Comprehensive group insurance including telemedicine, health spending account and wellness account
  • Vacation based on experience
  • Additional personal days and birthday leave
  • Professional development program and training reimbursement
Why Join This Team?
  • Be part of a major Product & Technology transformation.
  • Help build a cloud platform developed entirely in-house.
  • Influence key software architecture and engineering decisions.
  • Work directly with the VP of Innovation & Architecture.
  • Join an environment where innovation, ownership and technical excellence are highly valued.
  • Remain hands-on while continuing to grow your technical leadership.
  • Contribute to a long-term vision where the platform may eventually evolve into a commercial software product.

We thank all applicants for their interest. However, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
