What is a lead ramp agent?

A lead ramp agent is a supervisory role responsible for coordinating and overseeing ground handling operations on the airport ramp, including loading and unloading aircraft, ensuring safety protocols, and managing team members. The Lead Ramp Agent oversees baggage loading, fueling, and aircraft marshaling, often acting as the main point of contact between ramp personnel and the control tower. This role requires adaptability and strong leadership, as quick problem-solving directly impacts flight departure times and passenger satisfaction.
