Product Engineer II

Location: Fresno, CA

Employment Type: Exempt / Salaried

Position Overview



An established manufacturer of industrial flow control equipment is seeking a Product Engineer II to support the ongoing development, improvement, and lifecycle management of engineered products. This role focuses on enhancing product performance, reducing manufacturing costs, improving reliability, and providing technical support throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will work closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and implement product enhancements.


Primary Responsibilities:

Lead product improvement and sustaining engineering projects.

  • Improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost
  • Perform engineering analyses including FEA, DFMEA, tolerance studies, and value engineering
  • Investigate product and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Support supplier qualification and technical evaluation
  • Assist with new product development, validation, and production launch activities
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, CAD models, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Process engineering changes and maintain accurate PLM/ERP records
  • Coordinate product testing and analyze results
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to resolve technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Approximately 2 to 5 years of product engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting existing product lines through engineering improvements, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes


Preferred Skills

  • Experience using 3D CAD software, with proficiency in systems such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with PLM and ERP software used for engineering documentation and product lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, BOM management, and configuration control.
  • Experience performing failure analysis, structured root cause investigations, and implementing corrective actions
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while working both independently and within cross-functional teams
