Senior Product Engineer (APQP / PPAP / Automotive)

IMS Gear is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead advanced product and quality planning across key automotive programs. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where you will work directly with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful product launches, robust quality systems, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Lead APQP and PPAP activities from development through series production
  • Drive product and process quality across manufacturing, suppliers, and customers
  • Own FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and capability studies (Cp/Cpk)
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and suppliers to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Lead problem-solving and 8D activities, including containment and corrective actions
  • Support and lead customer, internal, and certification audits
  • Manage engineering changes, drawing control, and product validation
  • Oversee testing, measurement systems, and product requalification activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to quality technicians
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with quality, cost, and delivery goals
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards
What You Bring
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering
  • 5โ€“8+ years of experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
  • Strong hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and 8D
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis and process capability (Cp/Cpk)
  • Experience working with customers and suppliers in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead projects, solve complex problems, and influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience with SAP, CAQ systems, or similar tools preferred
