Job description

About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

ALSO is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Material Planner to manage the planning, procurement, and availability of consigned materials supporting our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners. This role will leverage our NetSuite MRP system to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, minimizing shortages, excess inventory, and production disruptions.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in material planning, ERP/MRP systems (preferably NetSuite), and external manufacturing environments.

What You Will Do

  • Own end-to-end planning of consigned materials supplied to Contract Manufacturers.

  • Utilize NetSuite MRP to:

    • Generate and manage supply plans

    • Analyze demand signals and recommend purchase actions

    • Maintain accurate planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes, etc.)

  • Monitor inventory levels across internal and CM locations to ensure continuity of supply.

  • Collaborate closely with:

    • S&OP team on product lifecycle and demand

    • Contract Manufacturers on build schedules, forecasts, and consumption

    • Procurement team on purchase orders and supplier performance

    • Logistics team on material shipments and transfers

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to shortages, excess, or obsolescence.

  • Track and reconcile consigned inventory balances and consumption reporting from CMs.

  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, data accuracy, and system utilization.

  • Support S&OP or demand planning cycles with material readiness insights.

  • Maintain accurate master data within NetSuite (BOMs, item records, planning attributes).

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3–6+ years of experience in material planning, supply planning, or inventory management

  • Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)

  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and consigned inventory models

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (much more than just pivot tables)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hardware, electronics, or manufacturing environments

  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP)

  • Familiarity with demand planning and S&OP processes

  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and audit processes

The salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $145,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Perks and Benefits

  • Robust health coverage. Excellent health, dental and vision insurance covered up to 100% by ALSO with FSA & HSA options.

  • One Medical membership and dedicated insurance advocates.

  • Rich fertility and family building benefits with Progyny.

  • Flexible time off.

  • 401(k) match.

Why ALSO.
