Job description

Role Description
Zoetis Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS) is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and collaborative Lead Financial Analyst to join the Finance team in Kalamazoo, MI. The Kalamazoo site supports more than $3B in annual revenue and manufactures many of Zoetis' leading products for livestock and companion animal health worldwide.
The newly created position reports directly to the site Finance Director and partners closely with manufacturing operations to provide financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost accounting support. This role offers an excellent opportunity for finance professionals looking to grow their careers in a dynamic manufacturing environment experiencing significant growth and investment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support all aspects of manufacturing finance, including month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and management reporting.
  • Support all aspects of variance analysis, that may include Material Usage Variance (MUV), Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Volume Variance, and Spending Variance.
  • Support forecasting and annual operating plan (AOP) that may include (MUV, PPV, Volume, Capital Planning and Spending).
  • Support standard costing activity for new products, components and manufacturing processes.
  • Support financial activities related to inventory, including distressed inventory, inventory write-offs and inventory destruction.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and decision support.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be open to change.
  • Work closely with the site Finance Director to ensure personal career development.
  • Participate in daily operational tier meetings and contribute financial perspectives to manufacturing performance discussions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and complete other finance-related projects and analysis as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive finance or accounting experience.
  • Previous manufacturing cost accounting or product costing experience required.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, inventory accounting, or plant finance is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical , problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels across the organization.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple and diverse projects.
  • Detail oriented, responsive, and proactive. Fosters clarity, transparency, consistency, and widespread understanding across the organization.
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a collaborative team.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Physical Position Requirements
  • On-site working environment, requiring 3 days/week in-person in the Zoetis Kalamazoo GMS office.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 5% of the time.
  • Frequent work with global teams located in multiple time zones.
