The Team Lead, Short-Term Disability/Absence and Paid Leave Claims will deliver benefit experiences that help create and protect financial wellness, making a meaningful impact in the lives of our customers and our communities.
What you can expect:
  • Lead the team to achieve customer service and claims management excellence.
  • Ensure accuracy of benefits paid on disability claims based on the deductible sources of income (offsets) and other contractual provisions outlined within the certificates.
  • Monitor, track and analyze reporting to ensure appropriate offset management of claims.
  • Develop effective action plans that result in improved team and individual performance.
  • Build and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
  • Provide direct reports with ongoing support, appropriate training, positive/constructive feedback, coaching and recognition in an inclusive manner.
  • Drive employee engagement and continuous process improvement to remove barriers and enhance team effectiveness.
  • Provide for business continuity by identifying potential successors and emerging leaders for the key leadership positions on your teams.
  • Ensure team is in compliance with their obligations regarding risk identification, risk assessment and risk monitoring, control, and escalation.

What you'll need:
  • Minimum of three years in a Group Insurance Operations or claims experience required.
  • A proven understanding of STD/Absence/Paid Leave claim management processes and offset management required.
  • Strong critical thinking, mathematical, problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills required.
  • Detail oriented with solid interpersonal skills.
  • Proven strong Customer Service skills.
  • Prior coaching, mentorship or leadership skills is a must.
  • Ability to problem solve independently.
  • Proven focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate across business.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and time management skills required.
  • Proficiency in Teams, MS Word, and Excel.

It'd be a plus if you had:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Direct supervisory experience.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $89,000.00 to $147,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
