Job description

LHH is seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer to support and enhance production operations for our client. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who thrives at the intersection of design, programming, and on-site implementation. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving productivity, quality, and reliability across manufacturing processes. The anticipated salary for this role is between $100,000-$130,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement automated systems, controls, and processes to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.
· Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and robotic systems to support manufacturing operations.
· Diagnose and resolve issues with automated equipment, sensors, and control systems to minimize downtime.
· Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, including coordination with vendors, scheduling, and budget oversight.
· Evaluate production workflows, identify opportunities for automation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Verify that all systems adhere to relevant safety regulations as well as internal company requirements.
· Develop and keep comprehensive records, including system designs, electrical schematics, testing protocols, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in automation engineering, controls engineering, or robotics within a manufacturing environment preferred.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
