The Layout Designer is responsible for document design within the Corporate Marketing Team, which also includes strategic pursuit proposals. This role focuses on producing high-quality, visually consistent documents that align with brand standards and project goals.

This role operates in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment that requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The Layout Designer must be proactive, adaptable, and able to respond quickly to changing deadlines and project needs. Flexibility and comfort with shifting workloads and varied assignments are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and format proposals, qualifications, Standard Form 330 documents, and other marketing materials
  • Develop and update document layouts, templates, and design guides
  • Prepare and publish draft documents, ensuring accuracy and visual consistency
  • Coordinate production, printing, and final delivery
  • Perform minor editing, formatting, and photo adjustments as needed
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, marketing coordinators, proposal managers, and leaders
  • Demonstrate effective leadership
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in layout design, marketing, or a related field
  • 3 years experience in the architecture, engineering, construction industry
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color usage
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and incorporate feedback in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year relevant industry experience
  • Experience with and interest in technology as it relates to documents and layout
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent typing, spelling and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated "self-starter"
  • Knowledge of production processes, both print and digital
  • Customer service, communication skills, flexibility, time management, project management, attention to detail, negotiation skills, leadership, multitasking and teamwork
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Suite (including, but not limited to InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat), Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Meticulous attention to visual design principles, fonts, and use of color
  • Ability to work with others and take constructive criticism and direction from a team
