Job description

Why Clarium?
The healthcare industry overspends on its supply chain by over $25B each year, the result of fragmented data, inefficient workflows, and wasted supplies. Clarium is fixing that. Our AI-powered platform, Astra OS, gives hospitals end-to-end visibility into their supply chain operations, automating workflows and surfacing actionable insights so supply chain teams can focus on what matters most: patient care. We're trusted by some of the world's leading health systems, including Yale New Haven Health, Stanford, Geisinger, and Kaiser Permanente.
Founded in 2020, Clarium has raised $43M in total funding. Our Series A was led by Northzone, with participation from General Catalyst, AlleyCorp, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Texas Medical Center Ventures, and 1984 Ventures.
The Opportunity
Every hospital system Clarium onboards comes with its own tangle of ERP, inventory, and EHR systems - and getting that data flowing reliably into Astra OS is what makes everything else possible. As we grow across more health systems, we need an engineer who can own that work end to end, directly with the customer.
We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (Data) to own the technical side of customer data integrations for hospital systems and their suppliers. You'll work directly with customers to understand their systems and bring integrations into production, designing reliable ingestion and transformation workflows along the way. You'll partner closely with data engineers and product managers to iterate on the customer data feeds that power end-user features, ensure integrations are correct and production-ready, and build reusable connectors and internal tools that make future integrations faster and more scalable.
This role goes beyond traditional backend engineering. Success requires comfort with ambiguity, unfamiliar systems, and frequent customer interaction, along with full ownership of production systems. If you enjoy building robust systems and staying close to the customer problems they solve, this is a strong fit.
In This Role You Will
  • Work directly with customers to understand their source systems and bring integrations into production
  • Design and build reliable data ingestion and transformation workflows that power end-user features
  • Partner with data engineers and product managers to iterate on customer data feeds
  • Ensure integrations are correct, production-ready, and reliable in the real world
  • Build reusable connectors and internal tools that make future integrations faster and more scalable
  • Own production data workflows end to end, including testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
What You'll Bring
  • 4+ years of professional experience in an engineering role
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience building and operating production data pipelines
  • Strong engineering practices, including production-grade systems, robust ETL pipelines, CI/CD, and monitoring
  • Experience with AWS or a similar cloud platform
  • Ability to work directly with clients to gather requirements, troubleshoot, and deliver integrations
  • A self-starter who's comfortable with ambiguity and unfamiliar systems, takes ownership of outcomes, and thrives in low-ego, team-first collaboration
Nice to Have
  • Experience integrating with ERP systems (Workday, Oracle Cloud, Infor Lawson, PeopleSoft, or similar), inventory management systems (ParEx, TecSys), or EHR systems (Epic, Cerner)
  • Experience in healthcare
  • Experience in supply chain operations
Skills & Tools You'll Use
Need to Know: Python • SQL • AWS • ETL / data pipelines • CI/CD • Monitoring
Nice to Know: ERP systems (Workday, Oracle Cloud, Infor Lawson, PeopleSoft) • Inventory systems (ParEx, TecSys) • EHR systems (Epic, Cerner)
What You Get at Clarium
Target Base Salary Range: $130K - $150K
The base salary Clarium offers may vary depending upon the ultimate scope and responsibilities of the position and on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total package will include equity, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
  • Incentive Stock Options proportionate to your salary
  • Fully remote, with a NYC co-working space available; distributed team across multiple time zones with opportunities for in-person time
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Top-tier health, vision, and dental benefits
  • 401K
  • The opportunity to build on a strong foundational team with deep data and engineering roots at a stage where your work genuinely shapes the product

Equal Opportunity Statement
Clarium is committed to promoting an inclusive work environment free of discrimination and harassment. We value a diverse and balanced team where everyone can belong.
