Job description

IT Infrastructure and IT Support Positions for LAUSD
Management Applications, Inc., a leading provider of IT Infrastructure and Network Management, Design and Implementation is seeking individuals for contract positions for the Los Angeles Unifies School District. This will be a long-term contract in the Los Angeles area and travel between schools within the district may be required. Please submit your resume and minimum salary requirements to be considered.
Experience Requirements and Job Responsibilities:
Under the terms of the resulting contract and at the District's request, the Contractor will provide consulting services for Infrastructure Deployment and Support Services in the areas of Engineering, Configuration, Enterprise Architecture, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Project Planning and Enterprise Security skill sets to the District using the classifications of resources listed below (collectively, "Resource"). These Resource classifications are further defined, with regard to descriptions, will indicate the technical expertise that will be expected of contractor consultants. Skill sets to be provided include, but are not limited to, knowledge of the following:
1. Network Engineering - Provides the necessary skill sets to plan, implement and support the local area networks, wide area networks, telecommunication systems and etc. that support in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services
2. Network Configuration - Provides the necessary skill sets to organize and maintain information about all the components of the organization's local area networks, wide area networks, telecommunication systems and etc.
3. Enterprise Architecture - Provides conceptualization and blueprinting services for an organization's structure and operations. The intent is to help determine how an organization can most effectively execute its current and future objectives.
4. Business Continuity - Provides the necessary planning, preparation and related activities to ensure that an organization's critical business functions will a)either continue to operate despite serious incidents or disasters that might otherwise have interrupted them, or b) will be recovered to an operational state within a reasonably short period.
5. Project Planning - Provides the necessary skill sets to be able to complete a project within a certain timeline using defined stages/phases, budget, resources and sets of deliverables.
6. Enterprise Security - Provides the necessary skill sets to be able to implement business security vision and strategy by creating, communicating and improving essential organizational security functions, principles and requirements.
Business Analyst
Must possess an understanding of current information technology with an ability to conceptualize solutions to business problems in the most effective and cost-efficient manner. They will typically consult with management to determine goals and objectives, and then design applications to meet them.
Project Manager
Must provide competent leadership and be responsible for overall direction of a project through successful planning and execution of a variety of detailed and diverse elements of project management. They possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. They complete of tasks and activities within the required time frames and budget constraints. Schedules and assigns duties to project team as needed and enforces work standards and reviews/resolves work discrepancies to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Project Director
Must provide competent leadership and be responsible for overall project direction of one or more projects through successful planning and execution of a variety of detailed and diverse elements of project management. They possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. They complete of tasks and activities within the required time frames and budget constraints of one or more projects. Schedules and assigns duties to project team as needed and enforces work standards and reviews/resolves work discrepancies to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Configuration and Infrastructure Network Engineer
Direct and participate in the installation, functioning, configuration, and other related tasks and services that ensure fully functioning Local Area Networks at all existing and new school site additions projects.
Network Architect
Lead or participate in the development of architectures, specification, and solutions in one or more of the following: Convergence, Data Network, Data Center, Local Area Network, Network Management and Services, Wide Area Network, Radio Systems, Voice, Video, and Data Convergence, and Unified Communication.
Project Coordinator
Coordinate and participate in the delivery, installation, functional performance testing and other related tasks of voice, video and data solutions at all existing and new school site projects.
Radio Systems Engineer
Analyze, design, implement, optimize, and enhance the radio system and/or telecommunications within schedule, quality standards and budget. In the case of projects executed at existing school sites, planning of the project in such a manner that allows the school sites to function throughout construction is critical.
WAN Network Engineers
Direct and participate in the installation, functioning, configuration, and other related tasks and services that ensure fully functioning Wide Area Networks at all existing WAN distribution nodes and/or Data Center.
Convergence and VoIP Network Engineers
Design knowledge and configurations standard protocols e.g. H.323, MGCP, SIP end devices as well as trunking. Design and implement of at least two leading manufacturer VoIP backend systems e.g. Cisco UCM, Avaya Communication Managers, voice gateway, voicemail, integration with email. Provide voice system security design and recommendation of security common practices.
Security Specialist
Provide an in-depth understanding of cyber security threats, technologies, and countermeasures to help design and implement necessary organizational secure measures, policies and protocols. Necessary skillsets in these areas, including but are not limited to Forensic Investigation, Analysis, Assessments, Assurance, Compliance, Governance and Strategies.
