POSITION: After-Care Aide (Latchkey) - Contracted Through EduStaff
LOCATION: Brandon School District Preschool
DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT:
The Brandon School District is a mid-size school district nestled in Northwest Oakland County. The district has approximately 900 students in junior kindergarten-5th grade between the two elementary schools, approximately 450 at the middle school level and approximately 600 at the high school. This small, tight-knit community has a strong connection to its schools and is passionate about the education of its youth. Brandon High School sends 85-90% of its graduates to post-secondary school each year, it was ranked in the 82nd percentile of all schools in the State on the top-to-bottom rankings and it was awarded as a Silver Medal Winner by the US News. Our elementary schools are both one-to-one technology are each near the 83rd percentile in State rankings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 16+ years of age unsupervised work allowable under child care licensing with valid work permit
- Strong communication skills; 18+ years of age preferred
- Ability to problem-solve
- Childcare experience preferred
- Desire and ability to work effectively with students, parents, and district staff
- Pleasant, cooperative and flexible with a positive attitude
- Fingerprinting requirements for both LARA Licensing and School Employment
- LARA fingerprints are reimbursed by the program, School Employment fingerprints are at the candidate's expense
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide safe, nurturing environment while supervising children in their care.
- Assist in planning of age appropriate activities.
- Assist in maintaining children's files according to licensing guidelines.
- Clean and maintain rooms, play, and changing areas according to licensing and district guidelines.
- Communicate appropriately with parents and other staff members.
- Maintain CPR/first aid certification, physicals and TB requirements according to required licensing guidelines.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
REPORTS TO: Latchkey Coordinator
WORKDAY/WEEK: Monday through Friday; 3:30pm to 6:30pm
STARTING DATE: August 31, 2026
COMPENSATION: $13.75 per hour - Contracted through EDUStaff
