Description
Make a difference while building your career in early childhood education! Community Progress Council is looking for caring, dependable individuals who want to grow into a career working with young children. As a Teacher Aide, you'll gain hands-on classroom experience while working toward your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential-all while being supported by a strong team and getting paid.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will support teachers in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom for young children. You'll:
  • Help with daily classroom routines, activities, and transitions
  • Support children's learning through play, exploration, and positive interactions
  • Supervise children to ensure their safety at all times
  • Use encouraging, respectful communication with children, families, and team members
  • Assist with setting up materials and maintaining a clean, organized classroom
  • Follow health, safety, and classroom procedures
  • Work closely with a Teacher or Assistant Teacher mentor
  • Participate in training and coursework to earn your CDA credential

Requirements
Required:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Willingness to enroll in and complete CDA credential
  • Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
  • Background clearances (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI, etc.)
  • Physical exam and TB test
  • Mandated Reporter training within 90 days of hire

Preferred:
  • Experience working with children (school, childcare, volunteer, or personal experience)
  • Basic computer skills
