Toddler Teacher Aide

Exciting things are happening at Tri-County Head Start! 

This summer our Durango program will be moving into a brand new, state-of-the-art child care facility, designed with top-notch early learning spaces as well as modern safety and security features to support quality early childhood education, collaboration, and care. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our team during an exciting season of growing and shaping a fresh learning environment for children, families, and staff. 

Position Summary

The Teacher Aide supports Toddler Teachers in:

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children
  • Leading daily classroom routines
  • Supervising and engaging children
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs

The Teacher Aide will have a base classroom and will also support the center by substituting in other classrooms and floating for Teacher breaks as needed.

Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Pay Range: $17.56 – $19.02 per hour, depending on education and experience

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential within the first year of hire. Tri-County Head Start provides training support, CDA coaching, and opportunities to grow into teacher-qualified positions
  • Previous experience working with young children, ages one through five, preferred
  • Background checks are required for hire
