Job description

Bishop Larkin Catholic School is seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Instructional Assistant to support students with exceptional learning needs in a faith-filled school environment. This position focuses on assisting students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs while helping them grow spiritually, socially, and academically to fulfill our mission statement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in providing instruction and accommodations for students with unique learning needs.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups for remediation, skill-building, and enrichment
  • Reinforce behavior support strategies and social-emotional growth
  • Assist students with organization, task completion, and following directions
  • Help create and prepare learning materials and resources
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal as assigned
  • Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with ESE students or students with diverse learning needs strongly preferred
  • Background in education, special education, child development, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission and values of the school
