Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We operate one of the largest FDM 3D print farms in the region, with 700+ printers running production parts around the clock. We are looking for a sharp, organized Production Planner & Team Lead to own our daily print schedule โ€” translating incoming customer orders into an efficient, prioritized print plan and leading the team that brings that plan to life.

This is a balanced role: roughly half your time is spent at a desk analyzing orders and building the schedule in our ERP/MES system, and the other half is on the floor working side-by-side with your team to set up printers and keep production moving.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Planning & Scheduling (approx. 50%)

- Review incoming orders daily via our ERP/MES system and assess due dates, quantities, and print time requirements

- Build and maintain a prioritized daily and weekly print schedule across our full printer fleet

- Allocate jobs to specific printers based on material, part geometry, and machine availability

- Anticipate bottlenecks, capacity gaps, and deadline conflicts โ€” and adjust plans proactively

- Communicate schedule changes and order status to internal stakeholders including sales, fulfillment, and leadership

- Track on-time delivery metrics and continuously improve scheduling efficiency

Floor Leadership & Execution (approx. 50%)

- Lead, direct, and support a team of 2 to 4 print technicians and operators

- Ensure the team is executing the print plan โ€” setting up printers, loading filament, and starting jobs on time

- Step in hands-on when needed to set up a printer, troubleshoot a failed print, or pull a completed job

- Hold the team accountable to quality standards, safety practices, and shift productivity goals

- Train new team members on printer setup, software use, and workflow procedures

- Run daily shift huddles and keep the team aligned on priorities

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 2 or more years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination

- Experience leading or supervising a small team in a production environment

- Comfortable working with ERP or MES systems to manage job queues and order data

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage dozens of concurrent jobs with overlapping deadlines

- Hands-on, floor-comfortable personality โ€” you are not just a desk planner, you enjoy being in the action

- Ability to problem-solve in real time when a printer fails, a job falls behind, or priorities shift

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools for tracking and reporting

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

- Prior experience with FDM 3D printing (any brand such as Bambu, Prusa, Creality, or similar)

- Familiarity with slicing software such as PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or OrcaSlicer

- Experience scaling or optimizing a high-volume production environment
