ICA Languages Services is actively seeking experienced local Foreign Language Instructors, Distance Learning Mentors, Curriculum Developers, Curriculum Specialists, and Digital Materials Editors for full-time in-person positions at the National Foreign Affairs Training Center (formerly FSI) in Arlington, VA.

We are looking for local candidates for the following languages:

Albanian, Arabic (all dialects), Amharic, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Farsi, Finnish, German, Georgian, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Haitian Creole, Hausa, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Khmer (Cambodian), Korean, Kurdish (Kurmanji and Sorani), Kyrgyz, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Mongolian, Montenegrin, Nepali, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian and European), Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog (Filipino), Tajiki, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Tibetan, Turkish, Turkmen, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, and Vietnamese.

Minimum requirements:

  • Educated native or near-native speaker of the language (preferably level 4 or higher on the ILR proficiency scale).
  • Possess the cultural background of the specific country or geographical region.
  • A minimum English proficiency level of 2/2 on the ILR proficiency scale.
  • Three (3) years of experience teaching adult learners the foreign language they will be providing to NFATC in a classroom setting (2 or more students).
  • One (1) year of experience administering proficiency-based assessments (i.e., NFATC (formerly FSI) test, ACTFL, DLPT, OPI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.)
