Job description

Join Our AoPS Academy as a Language Arts Instructor!

Are you passionate about language arts? Do you love inspiring young minds in an engaging, collaborative classroom setting? We have the perfect opportunity for you! 

We are currently hiring for dedicated classroom teachers and substitutes and with flexible schedules who can teach elementary and/or middle school-high school level Language Arts classes for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The Part-Time Instructor will:

  • Teach Engaging Curriculum: Use company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in language arts.
  • Engage Students: Actively involve students in each class for student-led learning. 
  • Classroom Management: Expertly manage up to 16 students. 
  • Grade & Provide Feedback: Provide feedback on tests.
  • Build Relationships: Connect with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.
  • Inspire Learning: Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts. 

The Ideal Candidate has:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required. 
  • A Bachelor's degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferred.
  • Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring students. 
  • Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred. 

Not Required: 

  • A formal teaching credential is not required for this position. 
Schedule:
  • AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4:15pm) and/or on weekends. 
  • This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class. 
  • Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes. 
  • Current classes available for 2026-2027 school year:
    • Exposition and Rhetoric courses 
      • Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 6:45pm
      • Sat. 1:45pm
    • Elementary courses 
      • Monday - Friday (won't necessarily teach each day, but looking for someone who is also available to sub these times)
      • 4:30pm shifts 
Campus Location:
  • This is an in-person position at our Frisco location.
  • Candidates must be located in Frisco, TX or the greater DFW area and must be able to commute to our campus.
