Job description

Overview

These positions are responsible for the cleanliness and up keep buildings and grounds for the camp. You can expect to clean the bath houses, including toilets, sinks, showers, floors, walls and windows. You may also be asked to cut grass or rake leaves on the landscaping side of the position. You will also be responsible for trash remaoval throughout the property.

This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, bathroom/showerhouse cleaning, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care, snow removal, brush removal, leaf removal, and general cleaning.
  • Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  • Able to track schedules and have facilities prepared for campers and groups to use the facilities.
  • Records and report all facility repairs. Be able to respond if needed to make minor repairs as needed.
  • Ensures YMCA buildings and property are secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Be able to track housekeeping/landscaping inventory and place orders for materials as needed to ensure proper stock.
  • Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
  • May set up furniture for events.
  • This is a safety sensitive position as driving is required to perform the tasks.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Six months or more of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • Must be will and able to drive vehicles.
