Job description

JOB TITLE: IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN
EXEMPT: NO
REPORTS TO: Account Manager DAYS: MONDAY - FRIDAY
SUMMARY: The Irrigation Technicians are responsible for the repair and replacement of irrigation systems. They perform a variety of mechanical and electrical tests on irrigation systems, assemblies, and parts to ensure the units are operating properly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Accurately diagnose irrigation equipment problems
  • Provide accurate reports, controller mapping and chart descriptions
  • Programming standard and smart controllers
  • Troubleshooting and repairing irrigation valves, heads, laterals, mainline, and controllers
  • After-hours emergency calls
  • Familiar with drip systems
  • Work Safely
  • Will conduct walk-through with Account Manager and fellow employees
  • Other duties may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate with the manager and fellow crewmembers.
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Landscape maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Irrigation: 1 year (Required)
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier.
  • A desire to excel, be punctual, and helpful
  • An interest in learning new skills and growing with our company

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
